Austin Movers

Once you have completed your research and shortlisted Austin movers, you are ready to pursue the next step which is to call the company to schedule a moving company in home survey appointment. We will now explain what an in-home survey appointment as and why it is important to have one before you finally select a moving company. During the in-home survey, the representative from the mover will visit your home and together with you, to walk through of the property so that the representative can make an inventory and the survey of what goods need to be moved. The inventory is critical to estimating your moving costs.

After the survey, you and the representative will discuss the services that are required, the plans for the move and pricing and this is a good time to ask any questions that you have. The in-home survey will normally take between 25 minutes and 45 min depending on the size of your property and the number of questions that you have. An in-home survey serves a definite purpose. It is true that every move is unique but the factors that influence every move up almost always the same namely what needs to be moved, what are the specifications of the locations between which the move will take place and what you need from your mover. These are the basics require a moving company to plan your move and provide you with a price estimate. Without this information, the company has no idea how many crew members and trucks need to be deployed, what equipment is needed, how long the move will take and what services you will need. The best and most accurate method of obtaining the information is meeting with you in your own house.

As mentioned earlier, an in-home survey benefits you because the real importance is that it is the best way of getting the most accurate estimate of costs without a doubt. It is also an excellent opportunity for you to interview and to get to know the mover. It is also probably the best time to ask the moving company all the questions that you may have and that's obtain a better understanding of the moving process.

The process for a phone survey is almost exactly the same as an in-home survey except that you will list the furniture room by room over the phone with the representative guiding you by asking the right questions. If you have a move that is not very large such as a two-bedroom apartment or smaller, an experienced moving

company can do a pretty accurate survey over the phone instead of having to visit your home. Naturally, you can always request an in-home survey instead. If your home is larger than a two-bedroom apartment, it is that much more difficult to create an accurate inventory over the phone so that the in-home survey is always preferable. If the moving company will not do a survey, this is one of the red flags you should look for when asking for a survey. Don't deal with a moving company which holds your price without a detailed inventory or details of the move. This means that they are not in a position to quote an accurate price. The company which asks to do a phone survey for a large home or a large move means that they have no real interest in giving you the best possible service.
